METAL PANEL WALL SYSTEMS
This property loss investigation into hail damage at the Oklahoma City Thunder Practice arena focused on denting, the definition of cosmetic damage to metal panel systems, and the visiblity of panel denting from the street. After a series of experts inspected the loss a lengthy investigation was conducted. A settlement was reached where only dented panels that were visible from the street, even if the denting itself was not visible, were replaced.
Metal panels are a drainable veneer assembly, composed of a wide variety of designs, including smooth, ribbed, and textured surfaces. These panels may be finished with many different colors and coatings. These systems are generally installed forward of a fully waterproofed support wall.
Investigations of metal panel wall systems include the evaluation of wind, hail, and debris impact damage, construction and installation defects, material defects and maintenance related damage to surfaces.
