SLOPED ROOFING SYSTEM

This property loss investigation into wind damage to a 50 year old asbestos tile roofing installation led us into discussions with local and state code authorities. Our material research led us to a source for matching histioric tiles and ultimatley, this led to the approval of selective repairs using the matching historic repalcement asbestos tiles instead of a full roof replacement.

Steep sloped roofing systems may be found in individual buildings or as a part of complex roof assemblies, and have roof slopes greater than 2:12. Design possibilites include gambrel, gable, hip, and single slope. Sloping roofs may be clad in a wide variety of materIal depending on the aesthetics and durability required, including; Asphalt Shingles, Clay Tile, Concrete Tile, Metal Tile, Slate, Wood Shakes, Metal.

Investigations of steep sloped roofing systems include the evaluation of wind and debris impact damage, construction and installation defects, material defects, and maintenance related damage to surfaces.
